Add an image to a customer email

Upload an image to the CMS and link it in a customer email or newsletter.

Written by Louise Dollimore

Upload your image to the CMS, then paste its email-sized link into your email. The email tool links to images rather than uploading them, so the CMS is the easiest free place to store them.

Steps

  1. In Ooooby, go to Website > Manage CMS. The CMS opens in a new tab.

  2. Click Media, then Create New. Upload your image, add a short description in Alt, and click Save.

  3. Click Preview Sizes, then click the copy icon next to email. This is a 560px-wide version, the right size for email.

  4. On the Write tab of your email, click the image button in the toolbar. The Image URL box already has https:// selected, so paste straight away to replace it, then click OK.

  5. Check the Preview tab before sending. If the image doesn't show, check that the address on the Write tab has https:// only once.

Good to know

  • If an image has no email size under Preview Sizes, it was either uploaded before email sizes were added, or it’s narrower than 560px. Upload it again, or use a larger version of the image.

  • Customer emails don't have a validate button. That's only in automated emails. Use the Preview tab to check your email instead.

  • Share links from Google Drive or Dropbox open a page rather than the image itself, so they won't show in an email.

  • You can add several images to one email. Add each one on its own line.
