Enhancing communication with your customers through customised automated emails can significantly improve their experience with your Ooooby hub. This guide walks you through the steps to modify the contents of automated emails sent from the Ooooby platform, including changing the subject line, body content, and incorporating personalised elements like first names or addresses. A video guide can also be viewed at the bottom of this page.

Accessing Custom Email Templates

  1. Navigate to Site Management: From the admin homepage, select Site Management.

  2. Open Custom Emails Overview: Here, you'll find a list of automated emails that can be customised.

  3. Select an Email to Customise: Choose the email you wish to edit, such as the Registration Confirmation, to access the existing template.

Template Formatting Features

The email template editor includes a toolbar for formatting your email:

  • Bold: Use double asterisks **text** to make text bold.

  • Italics: Use underscores _text_ for italics.

  • Bullet Points: Easily add bullet points to list items.

  • Numbers: Number your list items for orderly presentation.

  • Insert Link: Incorporate hyperlinks directly into your text.

  • Insert Image: Enhance your message with images.

  • Insert Data: Personalize your emails with variable data such as {first_name}, inserted via the </> button, wrapping the variable data with curly brackets.

Editing an Email Template

  1. Modify the Subject Line: Update the subject to reflect the purpose of your email.

  2. Edit the Body: Use the toolbar to format your text, add lists, links, images, or personalize with data variables. For detailed changes, refer to Scriban and Markdown guides for advanced formatting options.

  3. Validation: Once you're satisfied with your edits, click validate to preview how your email will look with various data inputs.

  4. Review Samples: Check the sample emails for accuracy and aesthetics. If adjustments are needed, refine your template and validate again.

  5. Save and Publish: After finalizing your edits, remember to tick the Is Published box to activate the custom email. This ensures your customers will receive your newly customized email.

Advanced Customisation

For those comfortable with more sophisticated email formatting, the Ooooby platform's templating system supports Scriban and Markdown. These tools allow for intricate styling and customization, ensuring your emails not only convey the necessary information but also align with your hub's branding and communication style.

Conclusion

Customising automated emails allows you to better engage with your customers, offering them a personalized and branded experience. By following these steps, you can ensure your communications are not only informative but also reflective of your hub's unique identity and values.
