In Ooooby, you can choose to either publish box contents for customers or keep them internal for packing and admin use. This guide walks you through both options, starting with the key decision: to show or not to show.

Step 1: Decide Whether to Show Box Contents

Before setting up your boxes, decide if you want to display contents publicly on your shop page.

✅ Option 1: Show box contents to customers

Enable this if you want customers to preview what's coming in their next box, including:

  • A list of items

  • Produce images

  • Country of origin flags

🚫 Option 2: Keep contents internal

Choose this if you'd prefer not to show contents publicly. You can still enter produce data to:

  • Support exclusions and preferences

  • Generate accurate picking and packing lists

  • Maintain records for organic certification or audits

Step 2: Enable or Disable Public Previews

To control visibility:

  1. Go to Hub Settings

  2. Toggle the following options:

    • Show public box contents

    • Show images and country of origin

Hub Settings with both toggles highlighted

What the toggles do:

  • If both options are on, content will appear on your shopfront with images and country flags.

  • If both are off, only your team will see the contents.

  • If the second option is off (images), customers will still see the list of contents with country of origin but no images.

Step 3: Set Up Produce Previews (Required for Both Options)

Whether or not contents are shown publicly, setting up a produce preview helps the system handle customer customisation and box building.

1. Go to Future Orders

Click Create Preview to begin planning the next delivery.

2. Add Produce Details

  • Navigate to Produce Details

  • Copy last week’s list if needed

3. Assign Items to Boxes

For more detailed information, go to Curating Weekly Produce for Deliveries in Ooooby.

Step 4: What Customers See

If Both Preview Options Are Enabled

If you've turned on both preview options, customers will see

  • A clear list of produce included in the next available boxes

  • Images representing each item

  • Country flags indicating product origin

An initial taster of contents:

If the Image Option is Off

If you've turned on just the box contents, customers will see

  • A clear list of produce included in the next available boxes

  • Country flags indicating product origin

Display of box contents with provenance flags.

The customer can then choose to click on the list to view the full list of contents:

If Both Options are Off

No contents are shown

Step 5: Benefits of Each Option

✅ If you publish previews:

  • Builds customer trust and engagement

  • Helps customers plan meals or request changes

  • Adds visual appeal to your listings

🔒 If you keep contents internal:

  • Supports exclusion logic and personalisation

  • Provides accurate data for packing and auditing

  • Allows flexibility in changing content at the last minute.

Summary

You control whether customers can preview what’s coming in their box. Either way, creating a produce preview ensures accurate box building and a smooth fulfilment process.

Choose what works best for your hub and your customers.

Note: At present, box contents are only viewable as an "example of" what could be in the box, as all delivery days currently don't show. The contents are only viewable on the shop page.
