Creating appealing and well-documented box subscriptions is crucial for the success of your Ooooby hub. This guide outlines the steps to create these essential products, known as Core Items, and introduces the concept of the Custom Box option, offering customers personalised selection while adhering to the system's requirements.

Core Items: The Foundation of Every Order

Steps to Create Core Items (Boxes)

  1. Navigate to Product Creation:

    • Go to the Crew Dashboard, select Products -> Product Overview -> Add a Product.

  2. Input Product Information:

    • Fill in the product details. For the Product Type, choose Core Product from the dropdown menu.

  3. Define Core Product Details:

    • Short Code: Assign a code based on the box size (e.g., LGE for Large Veg Box, MED for Medium Veg Box).

    • Packing Priority: Specify the order in which boxes should be packed (1 for first, then 2, etc.).

    • Allow Extras in Box: Ensure this is ticked to allow add-ons. This feature helps manage where extras are listed in case of multiple core items.

  4. Save Your Work: After entering all details, click Save.

  5. Duplicate for Efficiency: To create another core item, edit the one you've just made, scroll down, and click Create Copy. Adjust the necessary details for the new core item and save.

Photography Tips for Core Items

  • Use distinct photos for each box size to reflect the quantity difference.

  • Maintain a consistent shooting angle for all product photos.

  • Showcase your produce in the images, ensuring clarity and appeal.

  • For Custom, consider a photo of an empty box surrounded by a variety of produce.

Creating a Custom Box Option

This customizable box option allows customers more flexibility in choosing their box contents.

Key Differences for Custom Box:

  • Name: Choose an engaging name like "Build Your Own Box", "Fill Your Boots", or "Custom Box".

  • Short Name: Abbreviate appropriately, e.g., BYO Box.

  • Price: This could be a nominal packing charge. It’s possible to set this to £0.00, allowing customers to pay only for the items they select.

  • Product Image: An effective visual is an empty box with an array of products around it, indicating the customisability of the order.

Final Steps:

  1. Confirm and Save: After adjusting for Custom Box specifics, save your changes. If you set the price to £0.00, confirm this choice when prompted.

  2. Review and Publish: Ensure all details are correct and then publish the product to make it available to your customers.

Conclusion

By following these guidelines, you can effectively set up both standard box subscriptions and a Custom Box option, catering to a wide range of customer preferences while ensuring a seamless ordering process within the Ooooby system.
