Organising your products into categories on your Ooooby hub's website enhances the shopping experience for your customers. By creating groups, you can classify categories of products (e.g., groceries, non-groceries, specials) and decide the order in which they appear. Here's a straightforward guide to creating and managing these groups.

Understanding Groups

Groups are organisational tools that allow you to cluster product categories on your website. While the names of these groups are not visible to the public, they play a crucial role in the backend to structure how products are displayed, making it easier for customers to navigate and find what they're looking for.

Why Create Groups?

  • Improved Navigation: Helps customers find products more easily by organising items into logical categories.

  • Promotional Opportunities: Specials or featured items can be highlighted.

  • Orderly Display: Ensures that product categories are displayed in a preferred sequence.

Steps to Create Groups

1. Accessing Manage Groups

  • Navigate: In the Crew Dashboard, go to Products -> Categories -> Manage Groups.

  • Select: Choose Add Category Group to create a new group.

2. Filling in Group Details

  • Name: Enter the name of the group (e.g., Specials, Fresh, Groceries, Non-Groceries). The order number will dictate this group's display order on the website.

  • URL Name: This field will automatically fill based on the group name you enter.

  • Order: Assign a numerical order to your group. This determines the sequence in which the groups will appear on your website. Commonly, Specials might be set to 1 to appear first, followed by Fresh, Groceries, and then Non-Groceries.

  • Save: After entering the details, click Save to create the group.

Example of How to Organise Groups

  • Specials (Order = 1): Highlight limited-time offers or featured products.

  • Fresh (Order = 2): Showcase fresh produce like fruits and vegetables.

  • Groceries (Order = 3): List everyday grocery items.

  • Non-Groceries (Order = 4): Include non-food items such as seeds or flowers.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can effectively organise your products into groups, making your Ooooby hub’s website more navigable and user-friendly, thus enhancing the overall shopping experience for your customers.
