Ooooby's pause diversion feature offers a unique way for hubs to support charitable causes while maintaining subscription stability and customer satisfaction. This guide details how to utilise the pause diversion feature to divert paused customer orders to a donation drop-site, like a food bank or charity, and outlines the benefits of implementing this system.

Benefits of Pause Diversion

  • Subscription Continuity: Helps maintain uninterrupted subscriptions, providing stable revenue for the hub.

  • Supports Charities: Redirects fresh, healthy produce to charities, benefiting the community.

  • Customer Satisfaction: Customers appreciate the option to support charities, fostering a positive relationship with your hub.

Setting Up Pause Diversion

1. Create a "Donation" Delivery Group

  • Objective: Establish a destination for the donated boxes.

  • Steps:

    • Set up the delivery group with the name "Donation" and a code, such as "DNT".

    • Ensure this group is designated as a drop-site for pause diversion to function correctly.

2. Configure Your System

  • Location: Settings -> Hub Settings.

  • Customer Pause Options: Choose from the drop-down menu:

    • Allow Pause Only

    • Allow Donation Only

    • Allow Pause (default) or Donation

    • Allow Pause or Donation (default)

The example below shows the default setting to allow a pause as normal, but with the option for the customer to donate.

  • Select the Pause Donation Delivery Group created in Step 1 from the dropdown menu.

IMPORTANT: The drop-site selected will no longer appear as an option for regular collection selections and will not show on the map.

The example below shows the selected Pause Donation Delivery Group.

  • Additional Settings:

    • If "Pause Donations include Add-Ons" is checked, subscribed add-ons will be included in the donation.

The example below shows that customer add-ons will also be included in the pause diversion.

    • Disabling customer cancellations requires customers to contact the hub to end their subscriptions.

The example below shows that customers can cancel their own subscriptions.

  • Save your settings.

Customer Dashboard Experience

  • Allow Pause Only: This default setting enables customers to pause their subscription.

  • Allow Donation Only: Selection of a pause date will divert the order to the donation drop site.

  • Allow Pause (default) or Donation: Provides a default pause option with a donation choice.

  • Allow Pause or Donation (default): Sets donation as the default with an option to opt-out.

Operational Impact of Donation Diversions

  • Delivery Event Management: Donation boxes count as part of the week's orders.

  • Email Notifications: Confirmation emails exclude customers with diverted donations.

  • Edit Orders: Orders diverted as donations are marked accordingly in the system.

Labels, Manifests, and Routes

  • Printing: Labels and manifests print with the donation drop-site code but include the customer's name for traceability.

  • Delivery Route: Includes a specific printout for the donation drop-site.

Post-Event Administration

  • Customer View: The dashboard shows the donation status in brackets.

  • Admin View: Customer overview indicates the Donation drop site code and donation status.

Importance of Donation Delivery Route

The dedicated donation delivery route is essential for:

  • Organisation: Keeps donations separate for clear identification.

  • Efficiency: Ensures donations are managed efficiently alongside regular orders.

Implementing the pause diversion feature in Ooooby not only strengthens community support but also aligns customer preferences with charitable contributions, enhancing the overall impact of your hub's operations.
