Please note: This information is for shops who offer boxes/bags with set contents to their customers (i.e. a veg box or meat box). If you don't have set boxes/bags then read this article about how to add products, along with the grower or supplier.

Introduction

In the world of fresh produce delivery, connecting your customers with the source of their food enriches their purchasing experience. Ooooby provides a feature to add grower information, making it possible for customers to see who grew each item in their order. This guide details the steps to set up growers and suppliers in the system, ensuring that your products not only deliver freshness but also tell the story of their origin.

How to Add Growers and Suppliers

  • Navigate to the Admin Dashboard

  • Select Products > Suppliers > Add Grower

  • Name: Enter the full name of the grower or supplier

  • Short Name: Provide an abbreviated version for ease of reference

  • Location: Use the postcode or address field above the map to specify the grower's location. This helps in visually representing the proximity of the produce source to the customer

  • Method: Describe the growing/production practices, such as 'Organic Certified' or 'No Dig Regenerative'. This is your chance to showcase the sustainability and quality of the products sourced

  • Certifications: This field can be ignored as it currently does not appear on the website

  • Associated Profile: This field can be ignored as it currently does not appear on the website

  • Click Save to add the grower/supplier to your system. This will enable their details to appear in box previews.

The Impact of Adding Grower/Supplier Information

  • Box Previews: When customers preview their upcoming box, they'll see detailed information about the origin of each product. This transparency fosters trust and appreciation for the quality and sourcing of their food.

  • Customer Dashboards: Optionally, grower/supplier details can be made visible on customer dashboards, further enriching the customer experience by connecting them with the story behind their food.

Best Practices

  • Selective Addition: Only set up growers and suppliers whose products are directly included in the boxes. There's no need to add those whose items are only available as add-ons.

  • Engaging Descriptions: When detailing the growing/production methods, provide engaging and informative descriptions. This not only educates your customers but also promotes the values of sustainability and ethical farming practices championed by your suppliers.

Conclusion

Integrating grower/supplier information into your Ooooby platform not only adds a layer of transparency to your service but also builds a narrative around the food you deliver. This connection between consumer and producer enhances the overall customer experience, promoting loyalty and engagement with your brand. Follow these steps to effectively set up your growers and suppliers, and take advantage of this feature to differentiate your service in the market.
